A foolproof recipe for how to cook simple, quick and tasty duck breast. With succulent, full-flavoured duck breast, there's no reason to fuss around with complicated ingredients!
Score the skin of the duck breast and season with salt and pepper.
Melt some butter in an ovenproof frying pan over medium-high heat. Place the duck skin side down in the pan for a few minutes until the skin is brown and crispy, about 5 minutes.
Turn over for about 30 seconds just to sear the breast, then place the the pan in the oven for about 10 minutes. The juices from the duck combined with the butter will make a beautiful sauce to be poured over your favourite sides. I like mashed potatoes along with sugar snap peas.
So simple yet so delicious. The duck was tender, juicy and so tasty. Served it with mash, tender sweet broccoli and fresh asparagus. Will definitely be making this again
