I love using local British apples in this easy peasy loaf cake. I chop the apple into rather small bits, but you can leave it chunky, too. If you use tart apples, you may want to increase the sugar by 25 to 50g.
NICE!!!!!! I used Apple pieces from the freezer. Not blanched just used lemon water. And I used Wholemeal flour because I hadn't got normal plain flour. Oh & I used the bran flakes from having sifted the flour as a topping. Didn't make any difference to the taste but it looked nice & rustic shall we say lol. Oh I SHALL be making this again. And it only took about 50 mins in my oven. Lovely cold the next day with a cup of coffee. - 14 Mar 2017

Simple and quick to make, ideal for using up apples that may be a little past their best. it only needed around 60 minutes baking in my fan oven until ready. Very tasty and moist. Lovely with the addition of cinnamon. - 21 May 2016
