    About this recipe: Gorgeous homemade bolognese sauce - brill!

    Serves: 6 

    • 1 dessertspoon vegetable oil
    • 1 garlic clove, crushed
    • 1 onion, finely chopped
    • 500g beef mince
    • 2 carrots, finely chopped
    • 1 tablespoon tomato puree
    • 1 (400g) tin chopped tomatoes
    • 250ml beef stock
    • 1/2 tsp salt
    • 1/4 tsp pepper
    • 1/4 tsp dried herbs

    Prep:15min  ›  Cook:45min  ›  Ready in:1hr 

    1. Heat the oil in a large saucepan and brown the garlic, onions and mince.
    2. Add the carrots and and celery cook until tender.
    3. Stir in the puree, stock, tomatoes and herbs. Cover and simmer for 40 minutes.

    I was very impressed with this bolognese, have tried several over the years but this is the first one the whole family loved! I added worcestershire sauce, and a squirt of ketchup! This is one to be saved in your favourites!!!!!!!!  -  08 Oct 2012
