Kat's lemon and dill cream cheese for blini canapes

    Wanting the wow factor? Now you can make your own luxury gourmet canapés yourself for entertaining at home. This recipe is for the cream cheese that I used with smoked salmon, quail egg and caviar blini canapés; a real show stopper, and not only do they look amazing they taste superb too.

    Makes: 1 (400g) batch lemon and dill cream cheese

    • 1 small tub creme fraiche
    • 1 small tub plain cream cheese
    • juice of 1 lemon
    • 1 to 2 teaspoons chopped fresh dill

    1. In a mixing bowl, combine the creme fraiche, cream cheese and lemon juice and mix well until thoroughly combined. Add the dill and mix well.
    2. Either pipe the mixture onto a canapé of your choice using an icing bag/nozzle or simple use a knife to spread on top. Add additional toppings if desired then serve. Alternatively you can store the cream cheese mixture in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days until ready to use.
