Okonomiyaki (Japanese natto pancake)

    Natto is one of the most healthy ingredients in the world. They are a stinky soya bean, but they are very good for your health!!

    Serves: 1 

    • 1 pack natto
    • 1 spring onion, chopped
    • 1 tin tuna, drained
    • 50g to 75g self raising flour
    • tonkatsu sauce, to taste
    • Japanese mayonnaise, to taste

    1. Place the natto in a bowl and mix. If the pack included soya sauce, mix that in also.
    2. Add spring onion and tuna.
    3. Sprinkle the flour over the natto, tuna and spring onions.
    4. Add enough water gradually to make a very thick batter.
    5. Warm a little oil in a frying pan over a high heat then pour in the mixture.
    6. After cooked well (turning a golden brown colour), flip and cook the other side until firm and golden brown.
    7. Transfer to a serving plate then drizzle with tonkatsu sauce.
    8. Finally, drizzle with mayonnaise on the top! That's it! Fin.
