Leah's simple shortbread biscuits

About this recipe: These shortbread biscuits are so simple and very tasty. Easy to make with the kids or to have on hand in the biscuit tin.

Serves: 6 

  • 280g (10 oz) plain flour
  • 200g (7 oz) margarine or butter
  • 90g (3 oz) caster sugar

Prep:20min  ›  Cook:15min  ›  Ready in:35min 

  1. Preheat the oven to 150 C / Gas 2. Grease a baking tray.
  2. Combine all of the ingredients together and mix until it all comes together in a ball. Turn out onto a lightly floured work surface and roll into a sausage shape. Cut into rounds 1cm thick or roll out and cut into biscuits using biscuit cutters. Arrange on the prepared baking tray.
  3. Bake in the preheated oven for 10 to 15 minutes until golden brown. Remove from the oven and allow to cool for a few minutes on the tray before transferring to a baking tray to cool completely before enjoying.
