Kale mash with sausage and bacon

    This is a Dutch-style mashed potato dish that's packed with flavour. It's even more delicious served with a dollop of soft herb cheese, such as Boursin®.

    Serves: 4 

    • 1.5 kg of potatoes, quartered
    • 1 bag of ​​fresh kale, chopped
    • 1 large leek, washed and sliced
    • 1 whole smoked sausage
    • 1 pound thick bacon
    • splash of milk, if needed
    • 1 package Boursin® cheese with garlic for serving
    • grated cheese for serving
    • sour pickles (optional)

    1. Boil the potatoes, sliced leek, kale and smoked sausage on a low heat until cooked (about 30 minutes).
    2. Take the sausage out and cut it into pieces; set aside.
    3. Meanwhile, fry the bacon pieces until crispy; set aside.
    4. Mash the potatoes, leeks and kale together and add a little milk if necessary to make it smooth.
    5. Serve each person a big scoop of mash, topped with a piece of sausage and some bacon. You can also add pickles on the side.
    6. Create a well in the middle of the mash; add a wedge of Boursin® cheese. Top with grated cheese, if you like.
