About this recipe: Nobody will say 'no' to homemade Italian-style ice cream! The ice cream is not too sweet so use the ripest, sweetest berries you can find for the sauce. Enjoy!


Serves: 6 

  • For the ice cream
  • 300ml whole milk, divided
  • 120g caster sugar
  • 50g honey
  • 200ml double cream
  • 300ml plain yogurt
  • For the berry sauce
  • 200g mixed berries
  • 100g caster sugar

  1. Warm 150ml milk in a heavy based saucepan over medium heat. Add sugar and honey and stir to dissolve. Remove from heat and cool; add remaining 150ml milk, cream and yogurt and stir well to mix.
  2. Pour the mixture into an ice cream maker and following manufacturer's instructions.
  3. To make the berry sauce: Place berries and sugar in a pan and cook over medium heat for about 10 minutes, stirring often, until the sauce thickens up.
  4. Serve the ice cream and top with berry sauce.
