Easy and fast flapjacks

    Gooey, chewy and, above all, simple. These flapjack treats are great to make with children as well.

    Serves: 8 

    • 150g margarine or butter
    • 75g brown sugar
    • 2 to 3 tablespoons golden syrup or honey
    • 250g rolled oats

    1. Preheat the oven to 180 C / Gas 4. Line a square baking tin with baking parchment.
    2. In a saucepan on a low heat combine the margarine or butter, brown sugar and the golden syrup or honey till it is all melted and runny then mix in the oats until well coated. Spoon the mixture into the prepared baking tin and press down gently with the back of a spoon to compact the mixture.
    3. Bake in the preheated oven for 20 to 25 minutes until golden brown. Remove from the oven and mark into squares. Allow to cool in the tin then remove using the baking parchment to help you. Cut into squares and serve.

    So easy to make and very tasty made 2 batches in the second one i added chocolate pieces then topped it when cooled with chocolate spread yum yum!  -  19 Aug 2015


    This batch being my 4th attempt making Flapjacks an each time using a slightly different recipe, this is by far, the best from the 1st initial mix producing the best workable mix 2 pressing down in the tin to that 1st few seconds when u open the oven door not knowing quite wot your gonna find?!?  -  08 Dec 2017
