Pastryless German sausage quiche

About this recipe: A pastryless quiche but instead of ham it has German sausage. Serve warm or cold alongside a salad for a complete meal.

Serves: 4 

  • 1 red onion, diced
  • 5 eggs
  • 150ml milk
  • 500g grated cheese of your choice
  • 200g German sausage, chopped

  1. Preheat the oven to 200 C / Gas 6.
  2. Warm a little oil in a frying pan over a medium heat and add the onion; cook and stir until soft. Remove from the pan and set aside. In a bowl whisk the eggs together with the milk.
  3. Reduce oven temperature to 150 C / Gas 2.
  4. Sprinkle half of the cheese into a medium quiche or tart dish then top with the onion and German sausage. Pour the egg mixture over the filling then scatter the remaining cheese on top.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 40 minutes or until golden and just firm to the touch. Remove from the oven and serve warm or cold.
