Chewy oaty biscuits

    These easy-to-make chewy oaty biscuits are a favourite all around. Brilliant when served with Greek yoghurt!

    Makes: 2 dozen biscuits

    • 175g self raising flour
    • 75g oats
    • 175g caster sugar
    • 1 teaspoon bicarbonate of soda
    • 1 teaspoon baking powder
    • 175g butter
    • 2 tablespoons golden syrup

    Prep:15min  ›  Cook:10min  ›  Ready in:25min 

    1. Preheat the oven to 180 C / Gas 4.
    2. Put all dry ingredients in to a large bowl.
    3. Melt the syrup and butter together on a very low heat till completely melted and smooth.
    4. Pour the syrup mix into the bowl of dry ingredients and fold in until it completely coats everything.
    5. Mold into small ball shapes and put, spread well apart, on a buttered baking tray.
    6. Bake in oven for 10 minutes. Scrape of tray and leave to cool.

    i didn't use golden syrup I used honey. still as good  -  14 Apr 2017


    Amazing! Looks too dry but honestly once baked... So moist! I'm coeliac so I used gluten free Oats and still came out beautifully! Ive made white chocolate ones and now making mixed fruit ones! I scoop little balls onto a tray and they spread out so much!  -  12 Nov 2016
