Easy puff pastry pain au chocolat

    It's very easy to make your own pain au chocolat with just two ingredients: puff pastry and chocolate hazelnut spread. Lovely for a special breakfast!

    Ingredients
    Makes: 3 pain au chocolat

    • 1 sheet puff pastry
    • 3 tablespoons chocolate hazelnut spread

    Method
    Prep:10min  ›  Cook:8min  ›  Ready in:18min 

    1. Preheat the oven to 180 C / Gas 4.
    2. Cut the sheet of pastry into 3 tall and narrow triangles, like a slice of pizza. Place a tablespoon of the chocolate spread in the base of the triangle then fold over and press to seal with your fingers. Roll the remaining pastry around the pocket of chocolate. Transfer to a baking tray and brush with beaten egg if desired.
    3. Bake in the preheated oven for 8 to 10 minutes, until risen and golden brown. Remove from the oven and serve warm.
