Gluten free and vegan Worcester sauce

    This recipe could be of use either to people looking for a gluten free version or a vegetarian / vegan version of Worcester sauce. I can't say that it tastes identical but it's a good replacement in my opinion. Quantities are not vital - fiddle around with the recipe yourself until you feel happiest with it -my version is just a beginning.

    Ingredients
    Serves: 10 

    • 1 mug cider vinegar
    • 2 level teaspoons black treacle
    • 1 teaspoon tamarind paste
    • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
    • 1/2 teaspoon mustard powder
    • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
    • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
    • 1/2 teaspoon chilli powder
    • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
    • 1 pinch ground cinnamon

    Method
    Prep:5min  ›  Cook:6min  ›  Ready in:11min 

    1. Place all ingredients in a saucepan over a high heat. Bring briefly to the boil and then simmer for 2 minutes, stirring frequently. Bottle and use as required.
