Emoji cupcakes

    35 min

If you are a younger child like me and are into all the tech, you will love these cakes for you and family. I am 13 and this is my home made recipe.

    Makes: 12 emoji cupcakes

    • 110g (4 oz) butter or margarine, at room temperature
    • 110g (4 oz) caster sugar
    • 2 eggs, lightly beaten
    • 1 teaspoon vanillia extract
    • 110g (4 oz) self-rasing flour
    • 2 tablespoons milk
    • rollable yellow icing
    • chocolate icing or black/brown decorative icing

    Prep:20min  ›  Cook:15min  ›  Ready in:35min

    1. Preheat the oven to 180 C / Gas 4 and line a 12 hole muffin tin with paper cases.
    2. Mix the butter and sugar together in a bowl until pale. Beat in the eggs a little at a time and stir in the vanilla extract.
    3. Fold in the flour using a large metal spoon, adding a little milk until the mixture is a dropping consistency. Spoon the mixture into paper cases until they are half full.
    4. Bake in the oven for 10 to 15 minuets, or until golden brown on top and a skewer inserted in one of the cakes comes out clean. Set aside to cool for 10 minuets, then remove from the tin and cool on a wire rack.
    5. Roll out some yellow icing about 5mm thick. Use a blunt knife to cut out circles the size of your cakes. Place the circle on your cake.
    6. Shape some chocolate icing to the shape of your emoji's features: eyes, eyebrows, mouth etc. Serve!
