    A basic recipe for a spicy homemade salsa which contains no added or hidden sugars, unlike some of the jars you find at the supermarket.

    Ingredients
    Serves: 4 

    • 6 ripe tomatoes, coarsely chopped
    • 1/2 red onion, coarsely chopped
    • 1 lime, juiced
    • 1/2 bunch coriander, chopped
    • 1 jalapeno chilli pepper, chopped
    • 1 habanero chilli pepper, chopped (optional)
    • 1 clove garlic, chopped
    • freshly ground black pepper, to taste

    1. Combine tomatoes, onion, lime juice, coriander, jalapeno pepper, habanero pepper, garlic and black pepper in a food processor. Pulse several times until desired texture is reached.

    A simple and very tasty salsa. I made the mistake of using two particularly hot habeneros once. A half cup of crushed pineapple took the heat down and added a nice extra flavor. Very good with or without pineapple added.  -  11 Sep 2014  (Review from Allrecipes US | Canada)
