    Make some exquisite tasty fruit scones. Gives 8 servings, you can also put some tasty toppings on like jam or butter!

    Makes: 8 scones

    • 255g self raising flour
    • 1 pinch salt
    • 55g butter
    • 25g sultanas
    • 25g caster sugar
    • 150ml milk

    1. Preheat the oven to 220 C / Gas 7. Lightly grease a baking tray.
    2. Mix together the flour and salt and rub in the butter. Stir in the sultanas, sugar and then milk to get a soft dough.
    3. Turn on to a floured work surface and knead very lightly. Roll out to about 2cm (3/4 in) thick then use a 5cm (2 in) cutter to cut into rounds. Place on the prepared baking tray. Lightly knead together the rest of the dough and stamp out more to use all of the mix. Brush the scones with a little milk.
    4. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes until well risen and golden. Cool on a wire rack and then serve your delicious fruit scones. You could maybe use some jam, butter or clotted cream for a topping. Enjoy!

    Absolutely gorgeous! Very quick and easy to make. I doubled up on the ingredients and added an egg to the milk plus teaspoon of vanilla essence!! They're huge! Need to go and get some clotted cream and jam now!  -  11 Feb 2017
