Kale, avocado and cannellini bean smoothie

    Don't be put off by the beans! This breakfast smoothie will keep you full for quite some time. The avocado and beans make it a really creamy smoothie without adding any dairy. It's sweetened naturally with a small amount of mango and banana.

    Serves: 1 

    • 1/2 avocado
    • 80g frozen mango
    • 1 leaf kale
    • 1/2 banana
    • 2 tablespoons cannellini beans, drained
    • 120ml water, or more as needed

    1. Layer avocado, mango, kale, banana, cannellini beans and water in a blender; blend until smooth, adding more water for a thinner smoothie.

    This was good. I could handle it with no added sweetner, but my husband used 4 Splenda packets. I added 3 ice cubes and used a frozen banana. I used a good handful of chopped kale.     I honestly thought I would hate this so I made it on a day where I didn't have to rush to work....and fix something else for breakfast! Ha ha! Funny thing was, I liked it so much, I made another one to freeze for those rushed days. I plan to make many more green smoothies to freeze for when school re-starts in August (I'm a teacher and am off this month).
