Wash eggs well. Place in a saucepan and cover with water. Bring to the boil and boil for 9 minutes timed from the start of boiling. Remove from heat, drain well and cool.
Place a leaf over the centre of an egg. Wrap well in a piece of the tights, tying with a knot to secure well. Repeat with remaining eggs
Combine 250ml hot water with vinegar in a metallic pan or glass bowl. Add powdered dye and stir to dissolve. Add eggs and leave for 3 to 5 minutes, depending on desired shade.
Remove eggs and place back in the crate or on an old towel. Cut off the tights, remove the leaves and let dry. Once dry, brush with oil for a nice sheen.
