Easy and irresistible chocolate brownies

    These rich, gooey, chocolatey brownies will delight your senses and the smell as they come out of the oven is divine. This recipe is easy and fun to make, the outcome is delicious and if you make these you'll think why didn't I make these sooner, a little tip is once your brownie is cooled cover in melted chocolate and add a square of chocolate on the top of each one.

    Serves: 10 

    • 200g butter
    • 165g cocoa powder ( e.g. Bournville)
    • 400g light brown sugar
    • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
    • 125g plain flour
    • 2 large eggs
    • 1 large chocolate bar (e.g. Galaxy )

    1. Preheat the oven to 180 c / Gas 4. Grease and line a 20x18cm baking tin.
    2. Melt the butter and cocoa together in a saucepan over a medium heat, stirring often. Add sugar and vanilla when cocoa powder has turned a dark brown colour and mix thoroughly.
    3. Remove from the hob and mix in the flour and then the eggs. Add 10 to 15 chocolate squares. Spoon into the prepared cake tin and smooth the top.
    4. Bake for 20 minutes only. It may not look cooked (still gooey in the centre) but when cooling it will harden. Cool and cut into as many slices as you wish. Eat and enjoy.
