About this recipe: Very simple to make and you can try using different fruit. I often make this crumble and really love it. I have tried apple, apple and currants, raspberries, and blackberries. Really nice what ever you choose.

Serves: 4 

  • 675 to 900g (1 1/2 to 2 lb) fruit
  • 175g (6 oz) self raising flour
  • 55g (2 oz) margarine or butter
  • 55g (2 oz) granulated sugar

Prep:15min  ›  Cook:45min  ›  Ready in:1hr 

  1. Prepare fruit for the crumble according to type (ie if using apples, peel, core and chop the apples). Arrange prepared fruit in bottom of ovenproof dish.
  2. Rub fat into flour until it resembles breadcrumbs. Add sugar and mix thoroughly with a knife. Spread crumble on top of prepared fruit and level the surface.
  3. Bake crumble at 190 C / Gas 5 till fruit is soft and top is golden.
