100g button mushrooms, sliced
1 clove garlic, minced
2 tablespoons unsalted butter
1 to 2 teaspoons Vegemite®
1 handful fresh parsley, torn (optional)
Parmesan cheese, finely grated, to serve (optional)
cracked black pepper to taste

Pop your spaghetti in some salted boiling water and cook according to packet instructions.
Meanwhile, heat a little olive oil over medium heat in a suitably sized pan and begin sauteing your mushrooms and garlic. When soft and slightly browned, add in your butter and stir until melted. Add in 1 teaspoon of Vegemite® (unless you know you'll love it a little stronger), 2 tablespoons of your spaghetti water, and stir until the Vegemite® blends.
Drain your spaghetti and add in to your pan, then reduce heat to low. Toss your spaghetti until everything is mixed and your Vegemite® sauce is soaked up. Taste for preference and if you do fancy a little more Vegemite®, then add in an extra teaspoon, but make sure it's stirred in and blended throughout.
If you're adding it, throw in your parsley last minute and toss a few more times. Serve with plenty of Parmesan and a little black pepper. Enjoy!
If you wish to keep this dish vegetarian, omit the Parmesan, or use a vegetarian Parmesan alternative or sharp Cheddar.
