    About this recipe: This salad not only looks delicious but tastes so good that you might become addicted to it! Beef mince, fresh ginger, garlic, shredded cabbage, carrots and peppers are tossed in a spicy sesame-soy sauce dressing. Serve with fresh coriander and lime wedges.

    Ingredients
    Serves: 4 

    • 1 tablespoon rapeseed oil
    • 4 cloves garlic, minced, or more to taste
    • 1 tablespoon minced fresh ginger
    • 450g beef steak mince
    • 1/2 head white cabbage, shredded
    • 1/2 head red cabbage, shredded
    • 2 large carrots, peeled and cut into thin strips
    • 1 red pepper, cut into very thin strips
    • 120ml reduced salt soy sauce
    • 2 tablespoons sesame oil
    • 1 dash hot chilli sauce, or to taste
    • salt and ground black pepper to taste
    • 2 tablespoons freshly chopped coriander, or to taste
    • lime wedges, to serve

    Method

    1. Heat oil in a very large pan or wok over medium heat. Add garlic and ginger; cook and stir until fragrant, 1 to 2 minutes. Add beef mince; cook and stir until browned, 5 to 7 minutes.
    2. Push beef to 1 side of the pan and add white cabbage, red cabbage, carrots and red pepper. Mix vegetables with the beef and cook, stirring occasionally, until vegetables are just tender, 5 to 6 minutes.
    3. Stir soy sauce, sesame oil and chilli sauce into beef-vegetable mixture until well mixed; season with salt and pepper. Serve slaw with fresh coriander, a lime wedge and more hot chilli sauce.
