Method Prep:10min › Cook:25min › Ready in:35min
Combine the carrots, parsnips, sweet potato and stock in a saucepan. Bring to the boil, then reduce heat to a simmer and cook, covered, till the veg is tender, about 20 minutes.
Remove from heat. Mash with a potato masher, or transfer to a blender and puree till smooth. Add additional stock, or water, to create a thinner consistency, if liked.
To freeze for later: fill an ice cube tray with the puree. Freeze for at least 2 hours, till solid. Remove cubes from tray and place in a freezer bag. To defrost, place in microwave for 30 seconds, or as needed.
Introducing new flavours
For older babies, 7 months and up, you can start to introduce some seasoning. The key is to start with just a bit and see what your baby likes. You could add a pinch of ground nutmeg or ginger to this recipe, for example. Avoid salt till your baby is 1 year old.
