Sherry berry cocktail

    Sweetened sherry is poured over crushed ice and orange slices, then topped with fresh berries. A very refreshing summer drink.

    • 1 tablespoon sugar, or to taste
    • 1 tablespoon water
    • 3 orange slices
    • 120ml dry sherry (such as fino or amontillado)
    • mug of crushed ice
    • fresh raspberries and/or blackberries, for garnish

    1. Place sugar and water into a cocktail shaker and stir to dissolve. Add orange slices to the shaker and pour in sherry. Fill with ice, shake well and strain into a tall glass full of crushed ice. Garnish with seasonal berries and a fresh slice of orange.

    This was pretty darn tasty, and I totally can see this being a thirst quencher on a scorching-hot summer day. Hey, it's in the low 80's today, so it was pretty refreshing to me even though it's early January. A nice treat after a day of yard work.  -  02 Jan 2015  (Review from Allrecipes US | Canada)
