This is the easiest cake recipe ever which you can modify readily by changing the yoghurt flavour or adding other goodies like choc chips or nuts. It only has 4 ingredients and is a true 1-2-3-4 cake. You will not stop at one slice!

Yes, it is very easy to make, but it is weird - very sweet, but texture is neither cake nor bread. Reminded me of the greaseless sponges my mother used to make after the war (yes I am that old), when there was still rationing. Bit like the sponges used for trifles. OK on the day it was made, but lack of fat meant it didn't store well. I used a cherry yoghurt, full fat, and coudn't taste the cherry in the finished cake. Won't bother with any more. I tweaked it by using 2 tubs, not 3, of sugar. - 07 Dec 2016
