About this recipe: A Chinese chicken curry that is full of flavour and healthier than any takeaway. Serve with rice.

Serves: 2 

  • oil for frying
  • 350g diced chicken
  • 2 medium onions, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon five spice powder
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric
  • 1 teaspoon Madras curry powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon chilli powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 500ml chicken stock
  • 1 tablespoon tomato puree
  • 100g garden peas

Prep:10min  ›  Cook:35min  ›  Ready in:45min 

  1. Add oil to a pan and brown the chicken over medium high heat.
  2. Add the onion, spices and chicken stock and bring to the boil, then reduce to a simmer and cook for 20 minutes.
  3. Add the tomato puree and cook until the sauce has thickened.
  4. Five minutes before serving add the peas.
  5. Serve with rice.
