I adore basil! Fresh basil leaves, finely chopped onion and lots of garlic are blended with butter. It's great on crusty bread or served on top of freshly cooked vegetables. Refrigerate leftovers.

120g unsalted butter, softened
2 tablespoons finely chopped onion
2 tablespoons Parmesan cheese
1 tablespoon mayonnaise
3 cloves garlic, or to taste
10 fresh basil leaves
1/4 teaspoon salt (optional)
1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

Combine butter, onion, Parmesan cheese, mayonnaise, garlic, basil leaves, salt and pepper in a food processor; pulse until smooth.
Tip:
I prefer to use 3 to 4 fresh garlic cloves in this recipe but when I run out of fresh garlic, I use 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder.
