    About this recipe: Use this basic dry-roasted chickpea recipe to create a tasty, healthy snack! Simply season with salt and pepper or your favourite spices.

    Serves: 4 

    • 1 (400g) tin chickpeas, drained and rinsed
    • 2 teaspoons olive oil
    • 1/4 teaspoon salt, or to taste
    • freshly ground black pepper to taste

    1. Preheat oven to 220 C / Gas 7.
    2. Spread chickpeas in a baking dish; pat dry with kitchen paper.
    3. Bake in preheated oven, stirring halfway through, about 22 minutes. Toss with olive oil, salt and pepper in a large bowl. Return to the baking dish.
    4. Continue baking chickpeas, stirring halfway through, until golden and dry on the outside, about 22 minutes more.

    Quick, grab your ice cold beer...this recipe deserves one. As far as method, this is a good one. The chickpeas were crunchy and crispy. The seasoning is just enough to bring out the real chickpea flavour. I ended up sprinkling some nutritional yeast on afterwards, but as is these are five star.
