About this recipe: Use this basic dry-roasted chickpea recipe to create a tasty, healthy snack! Simply season with salt and pepper or your favourite spices.


Serves: 4 

  • 1 (400g) tin chickpeas, drained and rinsed
  • 2 teaspoons olive oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt, or to taste
  • freshly ground black pepper to taste

  1. Preheat oven to 220 C / Gas 7.
  2. Spread chickpeas in a baking dish; pat dry with kitchen paper.
  3. Bake in preheated oven, stirring halfway through, about 22 minutes. Toss with olive oil, salt and pepper in a large bowl. Return to the baking dish.
  4. Continue baking chickpeas, stirring halfway through, until golden and dry on the outside, about 22 minutes more.
