Cheese sauce for broccoli and cauliflower

    With this easy Cheddar cheese sauce, you can turn steamed veggies, like broccoli and cauliflower, into a side dish your kids will gobble up.

    Serves: 6 

    • 2 tablespoons butter
    • 2 tablespoons plain flour
    • 240ml milk
    • 170g grated Cheddar cheese
    • salt and ground black pepper to taste

    1. Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat; whisk flour into butter until smooth. Pour milk into butter mixture and stir with a wooden spoon to combine. Cook and stir until mixture thickens, about 3 minutes. Add Cheddar cheese and stir until cheese is melted, about 3 minutes more. Season with salt and pepper.

    Well I'm sure this is a fine recipe except for the units used. Exactly how much is 2tbs of butter? Surely grams or ounces is logical? As a consequence I skipped this recipe and looked for another with accurate quantities, sorry.  -  11 Nov 2017
