Cranberry sauce sweetened with honey and pears is a tasty alternative to the traditional cranberry sauce.

    1. Combine honey, apple cider, water, lemon juice and cinnamon stick in a saucepan; bring to the boil. Lower heat to medium and simmer, stirring frequently, until smooth, about 5 minutes. Add pears and cranberries and return to the boil; reduce heat to medium and simmer until sauce is thickened, 12 to 15 minutes. Refrigerate until chilled and flavours have blended, at least 2 hours.

Everything about this recipe is perfect! I brought it to Thanksgiving dinner and everyone was raving about it. I brought this recipe, along with a batch of my usual cranberry sauce that I make (orange-spice flavored) and this one was the clear winner. Even the youngest guest (1 year old) kept crying for more! I made it exactly as written and wouldn't change a thing. A new favorite! Thanks Leah! FYI: my 12oz bag of fresh cranberries was about 3 1/4 cups, so I reduced the rest of the ingredients a bit.  -  27 Nov 2015  (Review from Allrecipes US | Canada)

Delicious. It is a little to sweet for my taste so next time the honey will be reduced to 3/4 c. and the pears will be cut into smaller dice.  -  25 Nov 2018  (Review from Allrecipes US | Canada)

I added toasted pecans to mine and it was fantastic.  -  30 Nov 2016  (Review from Allrecipes US | Canada)
