Easy maple syrup tart

    An easy no-bake sweet tart that maple syrup lovers will adore. This is a classic recipe from Quebec. Serve with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.

    Serves: 8 

    • 90g butter
    • 50g plain flour
    • 350ml maple syrup
    • 120ml hot water
    • 1 (23cm) digestive biscuit pastry case
    • pecan halves (optional)

    1. Melt butter in a saucepan; add flour and mix to form a paste. Whisk in maple syrup and water. Heat until thick, stirring constantly. Let cool slightly before pouring into pastry case. Garnish with pecans, if liked. Chill in the fridge until set. Serve cold.
