    About this recipe: Savoury cakes are commonly served as a starter in France, usually cut into bite-sized portions. They can be made of ham, olives, bacon or tuna. This delicious cake, with smoked salmon and cheese, is very easy to prepare. Mix the basic ingredients for a cake, then add cheese, smoked salmon and chives. You can serve it cut into cubes as canapes or thinly sliced ​over a bed of lamb's lettuce for a light meal.

    Ingredients
    Serves: 10 

    • 3 eggs
    • 150g plain flour
    • 8g baking powder
    • 3 tablespoons sunflower oil
    • 125ml hot milk
    • 100g Emmental cheese, freshly grated
    • 200g smoked salmon, cut into small pieces
    • 2 bunches chives, chopped
    • salt and pepper

    Method

    1. Preheat the oven at 180°C / Gas 4.
    2. Beat the eggs in a large bowl. Add the flour, baking powder and oil and whisk well to thicken. Pour the hot milk over the mixture while stirring. Add the cheese, smoked salmon, chive, salt and pepper.
    3. Pour into a non-stick cake tin and bake for 45 minutes.
