Baked ham with glaze

    A gammon is baked for 45 minutes, then glazed with a mixture of brown sugar, ginger ale, cinnamon and mustard to create this delicious baked ham.

    • 1 (2.7kg) bone-in whole gammon
    • 220g brown sugar
    • 3 tablespoons ginger ale
    • 2 tablespoons dry mustard
    • 1/8 teaspoon ground cinnamon, or more to taste

    1. Preheat oven to 180 C / Gas 4. Place gammon in a large baking dish.
    2. Bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes. Whisk brown sugar, ginger ale, mustard and cinnamon together in a bowl; brush over ham. Continue baking ham until the meat pulls away easily from the bone, about 45 more minutes.

    This recipe was outstanding. It was so good I made 3 more dishes with the ham throughout the week. Split ham and pea soup, my husband ate this for dessert, truly. Scalloped ham and potatoes. And last but not least, homemade mac-n-cheese with chunks of ham. 10 out of 10. I will most certainly be preparing a ham this way again.
