A hearty porridge

    Oats, quinoa, flaxseed, ground almonds and walnuts are simmered with apples and raisins in this hearty porridge. This recipe will make enough for a week. Cut out a section each morning, chop and add milk to almost cover, heat in microwave for 3 1/2 minutes, and enjoy having plenty of energy til lunch time!

    • 80g oats
    • 85g quinoa
    • 75g raisins
    • 60g chopped walnuts
    • 60g ground almonds
    • 60g milled flaxseed
    • 45g shredded coconut
    • 1 small apple, chopped
    • 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
    • 850ml water

    1. Combine oats, quinoa, raisins, walnuts, ground almonds, flaxseed, coconut, apple and cinnamon in a pot; add water. Bring mixture to the boil, stirring regularly; reduce heat and simmer until oats are tender and liquid is absorbed, about 10 minutes.
