Spongey fridge cake

    A yummy fridge cake that I made up yesterday when my Victoria sponge broke up while getting it out of tin and I didn't want to waste it, so looked in cupboards and came up with this very versatile recipe ...... Soooo yummy too

    Ingredients

    • Roughly half of one layer of a sponge cake or any cake really
    • 1 large Choc bar (melted)
    • 1/2 bag Choc chips or equivalent in raisins, cherries, nuts etc or a mxture
    • Mini marshmallows

    Method

    1. Line a square or round cake with foil or you could use bun cases
    2. Break up the sponge into pieces, you can use crumbs as well and mix in Choc chips etc,
    3. Add the melted chocolate and mix until everything coated, put into tin or cases then gently push marshmallows into the top and pop in fridge until totally set, I left mine overnight
    4. Remove from tin and foil and cut into squares , leave in cases if you have used those and lastly enjoy!!!

    Tip

    You can add anything really and use fresh or cake that needs using up, popping candy might be nice for kiddies party
