Wipe the apples, peel them and cut them into quarters and cut them in half and in half again. (Basically into 16ths), stew the apples and add apple juice and a pinch of sugar for sweetness. once stewed transfer the apples into a oven proof dish. (I used a glass dish)
rub together the butter and the flour to create fine breadcrumbs.
stir in the oats and the demerara sugar and cover over the apple and the dish. transfer to the oven for 20-30 minutes or until crisp and golden on top.
