Cherry ice cream without ice cream maker

This recipe does not need an ice cream maker, just a blender to puree the cherries. Instead of cherries, you can make it with any other flavour of your liking.

    4 people made this

    • 150g double cream, chilled
    • 410g (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk, chilled
    • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
    • 350g (12 oz) frozen stoned cherries, thawed

    1. Pour the chilled cream into a chilled mixing bowl and beat with an electric whisk tlil stiff peaks appear, about 4 to 5 minutes.
    2. Add the vanilla extract along with the chilled condensed milk. The vanilla extract helps prevent crystals in the finished ice cream. Whisk again till mixture is thickened.
    3. Puree two thirds of the thawed cherries in a blender. Quickly whisk into cream mixture.
    4. Chop the remaining cherries into small pieces and stir into mixture.
    5. Pour mixture into suitable container and freeze overnight.

You could add chopped milk chocolate buttons to the mix before freezing if you like, but I prefer to sprinkle the ice cream with a crumbled-up Flake® when serving.
