In a 1-litre saucepan add 200ml water and flavourings of your choice: pepper, chicken stock cube, Maggi and olive oil or butter and stir until dissolved. Add the maize mix and and heat on high, whisking with balloon whisk.
Whithin a couple of minutes the mixture will start to thicken. Keep whisking until the mixture comes away from the bottom of the pan.
At the end if you like add soft minced herbs or cheese and stir to combine. Serve hot.
