120g (4 oz) light brown sugar
120g (4 oz) butter
100ml cream or full cream milk

1.
Melt the butter and sugar in a saucepan over a low heat until the sugar is dissolved. Watch it carefully so that it doesn't burn.
2.
Stir in the cream and heat gently until bubbling, stirring continually. Remove from heat and serve warm.

this recipe is delicious! i made it to be served with a melt in the middle chocolate pudding, delicious with cookie dough ice cream!

this sauce was very easy to make and tasted gorgeous! I also thought it was lovely served cold the next day. It would be perfect for caramel shortbread.

Delicious, easy recipe! I think it's closer to a toffee sauce than a caramel sauce, but it's wonderful either way. I'll definitely be using this again in future.

don't understand comment about sauce being too sweet. It's caramel sauce it's supposed to be sweet isn't it. Sorry!
