Easy slow cooker beef stew

    An easy beef stew with mushrooms from the slow cooker.

    Serves: 4 

    • 1 onion, chopped
    • 4 carrots, peeled and chopped
    • 1 (200 to 300g) pack white or chestnut mushrooms
    • 400g diced stewing beef
    • 2 teaspoons mixed dried herbs
    • 1 level tablespoon cornflour mixed with 1 tablespoon cold water
    • 1 beef stock cube, dissolved in 300ml hot water

    1. Set the slow cooker to low and put in vegetables, then add the beef on top.
    2. Add the herbs and cornflour to the stock. Pour over the beef.
    3. Cook on low for 7 to 10 hours, depending on how tender you like your beef.
