Pear chocolate tart with puff pastry

    This pear tart has everything that complements pears: a puff pastry base, chocolate, custard and almonds.

    Makes: 1 tarte

    • 100g butter, softened
    • 125g finely ground almonds
    • 125g caster sugar
    • 2 eggs
    • 1 (375g) packet ready rolled puff pastry
    • 100g chocolate
    • 3 pears

    1. Preheat oven to 210 C / Gas 6-7.
    2. In a bowl mix butter, almonds and sugar. Add the eggs and stir to combine.
    3. Unroll pastry and line a tart tin with it. Melt chocolate and brush over the pastry.
    4. Carefully pour egg mixture on top, taking care not to mix the two layers. Peel, core and slice pears and arrange on top.
    5. Bake in the preheated oven till puffed up and browned, 25 to 30 minutes.
