    Serves: 8

    • 1 orange, sliced
    • 2 limes, sliced
    • 175g fresh pineapple - peeled, cored and chopped
    • 150g cherries, pitted and halved
    • 1 bottle red wine
    • 1L fizzy lemonade

    Prep:10min  ›  Ready in:10min

    1. Place the fruit in a punch bowl. You may want to slightly crush the citrus fruits to get a little more of the flavour into the punch.
    2. Pour in the bottle of red wine and stir in the lemonade. Pour it in slowly and taste as you go along - you don't want to over-dilute the wine!

I decided to try and make sangria for the first time for my annual cinco de mayo party. I was a little hesitant at first because I was not sure which type of red wine to buy. After deciding to use a merlot, I added lemons, limes, and oranges and pineapple. I didn't have any cherries, so I left those out. Everyone loved this so much that I wish I had doubled the recipe as it was gone in about 10mins. Will make this one again.  -  09 May 2004  (Review from Allrecipes US | Canada)

I used Merlot wine and 2.5 cups of lemon-lime soda. For fruit, I used 1/2 pineapples, 1 apple, 1/2 lemon, 1/2 lime, 1/2 orange. It tasted WONDERFUL! I had to go out and buy more wine though because the recipe that is posted was enough for me to drink alone!!!  -  13 May 2005  (Review from Allrecipes US | Canada)

This is a nice refreshing beverage, that you would want to make all of the time.  -  08 Sep 2001  (Review from Allrecipes US | Canada)
