Fine green beans with bacon

    Only two ingredients, green beans and bacon, that's all you need for this easy side dish. Bacon gives the green beans enough flavour and certainly adds enough salt.

    Serves: 4 

    • 600g whole fine green beans, fresh or frozen
    • 60g finely diced streaky bacon
    • pepper (optional)

    1. Bring water to the boil in a large saucepan and cook beans till al dente, about 5 minutes. Drain and rinse under cold water to stop cooking, then drain again.
    2. While beans cook fry bacon frying pan till it releases fat, fry till nicely browned. Add drained beans and reheat thoroughly. Add pepper to taste and serve.
