    About this recipe: This is the most fantastic soup for cold winter days. Thanks to my father who passed down the recipe.

    Serves: 12 

    • 8 potatoes, cubed
    • 4 cloves garlic, peeled and sliced
    • 6 sticks celery with leaves, chopped
    • 1/2 teaspoon ground turmeric
    • 2 lemons, juiced
    • 1 chicken stock cube
    • salt and pepper to taste

    1. Place potatoes, garlic and celery into a large stockpot with water to cover. Cover and bring to the boil. Cook until potatoes are tender, about 25 minutes.
    2. Season with turmeric, lemon juice, chicken stock cube and salt and pepper to taste. Simmer for another 10 minutes. Mash some of the potato chunks for a thicker consistency.
