Serves: 6 

  • 400g of cooked dessert apples
  • 2 tablespoons golden syrup
  • 100g flaked almonds
  • 3 egg whites
  • 3 tablespoons caster sugar

  1. Place the apples in the base of an ovenproof dish. Sprinkle with the syrup and nuts.
  2. Whisk the egg whites stiffly and fold in the caster sugar to make the meringue.
  3. Place the meringue on top of the apple mixture and bake in a moderate oven for 10 minutes or until golden brown.
