For a special treat I bake these chocolate chip cookies for my children.

Serves: 12
- 110g butter
- 50g caster sugar
- 70g light brown soft sugar
- 1 egg
- 3/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 125g plain flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 170g chocolate chips

- Preheat oven to 190 C / Gas 5.
- Beat butter till creamy. Add sugar and brown sugar and continue to beat till light and fluffy. Add egg and vanilla and stir well. Add flour, baking powder and salt and stir till well combined. At the end, stir in the chocolate chips.
- Place spoonfuls of the mixture on a non greased baking tray, leaving 5cm between them. Bake in the preheated oven for 8 to 10 minutes.
