    About this recipe: Here is a very simple way of enjoying avocados as a starter.

    Ingredients
    Serves: 2 

    • 1 avocado
    • 1/2 teaspoon minced garlic
    • 1/2 teaspoon minced fresh root ginger
    • 1 teaspoon soy sauce

    Method
    Prep:10min  ›  Ready in:10min 

    1. Stir together garlic, ginger and soy sauce; set aside for five minutes to allow the flavours to blend. Cut the avocado in half and discard the stone; divide the sauce between the avocado halves. Eat with a spoon!

    Altered ingredient amounts. We really enjoyed this. The first time I made it, we found the garlic to be a bit strong. The next time, I cut back on the garlic and added half a teaspoon of sesame oil. Delicious! I think this would be nice as a dip with tortilla chips - just mash everything together! - 09 Feb 2009

    The flavours are very intense so it needs to be used sparingly but we enjoyed it. - 01 Mar 2009
