Aggie's Yorkshire puddings

    This is my no-fail Yorkshire pudding recipe. I believe the secret to successful Yorkie's is down to resting and cooking in a hot tray or ramekins.

    Serves: 4 

    • 150g plain flour
    • 225ml milk
    • 1 egg
    • 1 teaspoon salt
    • 1 tablespoon oil, for greasing

    1. Preheat oven to 200 C / Gas 6.
    2. Whisk flour, milk, eggs and salt together in a large jug until smooth; set batter aside to rest for 10 minutes.
    3. Whisk batter again and let it rest for another 10 minutes. Lightly grease 4 ramekins with oil and place in preheated oven so they remain hot.
    4. Pour the mixture into preheated ramekins, about 3/4 full.
    5. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until puffed up and risen above the rim. Serve immediately.
