Root ginger tea

    Ginger boosts your immune system. This home brewed tea is a very simple and cheap home remedy against bronchitis, cough and cold, and also against an upset stomach.

    Ingredients
    Serves: 4 

    • 1L water
    • 1 (10cm) piece fresh root ginger
    • honey to taste

    Method

    1. Peel and thinly slice ginger. Add ginger and water to a saucepan and bring to the boil. Cover and simmer for 5 minutes. Taste and boil for up to 5 further minutes depending on how strong you like the tea.
    2. Pour through a strainer and sweeten with honey if desired. Drink whilst hot.
