Cucumber sangria

    If possible, use an untreated unwaxed cucumber for this white sangria, then you won't need to peel it and it tastes better.

    Serves: 10 

    • ½ cucumber
    • 125g caster sugar
    • 80ml arrak
    • 2 (750ml) bottles chilled dry white wine
    • ice cubes
    • sparkling wine or sparkling mineral water
    • lemon slices

    1. Thinly slice cucumber. Add cucumber, sugar and arrak to a large glass bowl or a carafe.
    2. Add half a bottle of the white wine and refrigerate for 1 hour.
    3. Add the remaining wine, ice cubes, and sparkling wine or mineral water to taste. Add lemon slices and serve.
